Did anyone get one? Anyone? Jobs?

I was in line last night at an AT&T store after work and despite corporate intelligence estimates the 8GB models sold out before I could grab one. I would have had to been in line around 4ish to have gotten one. So I ended up ordering it through AT&T.

Apparently Apple didn't really want customers to buy their iPhones at AT&T stores. Just sayin'.

On the other hand, this may have been a small mercy for me as I am switching from craptacular Verizon to even more craptacular AT&T and there have been many, many complaints about the porting process and how certain carriers are taking the maximum time allowed to port their customers over. cough

Anyway...the only people who are probably more disappointed than me are my coworkers who were hoping to see it on Monday.

Apparently they've got plenty

I didn't get an iPhone by ObviousTroll (4.00 / 1) #2 Sat Jun 30, 2007 at 04:19:28 PM EST
I had to settle for getting a wisdom tooth pulled.

On the upside, I've got a lovely bottle of vicodin sitting next to me, as I watch Full Metal Alchemist.

Not that that has anything to do with you.

Apple.com says the KOP store still has phones available.

but jared did have to fight his way through the crowd at the apple store.

when he woke up this morning, the power cord for his mac laptop was smoking. and ... melted through. it's not clear what caused this, but we're lucky he woke up when he did.

so he had to go get it replaced. which meant going to the apple store. where he was told that warranty repairs have to be handled by the genius bar.

the genius bar, of course, is full of people dealing with iphone stuff.

the guys in palo alto didn't have time for him, so overwhelmed were they; so he made a reservation. for a genius bar at another store. eight hours later.

why the fuck can't replacing a power supply be done by any sales drown? it's not like there's any actual diagnosis to do.

grumble.

iPhone waits for you.

I predict that some other company will make something exactly like it, but without all the restrictions (and a removable battery), within 6-12 months.

I agree. by garlic (2.00 / 0) #6 Thu Jul 05, 2007 at 10:34:03 AM EST
I also predict that the only thing that could make it more popular than the iphone would be a better service provider than ATT.
